Ball valve
A ball valve uses a ball with a through hole in the middle as the opening and closing part, and controls the on-off by rotating the ball (usually 90°). When the through hole of the sphere is the same as the diameter of the pipeline, it is fully open; when it is vertical, it is fully closed.
Features of ball valves
1) The flow channel is simple, thus having low flow resistance. It opens and closes quickly, and the operation can be completed by rotating 90°.
2) Compact in structure, it is small in size, light in weight, easy to maintain and has excellent sealing performance.
3) It has poor regulating performance and is only suitable for rough regulation. It is not advisable to use it for a long time in throttling conditions.
Ball valves are widely used in branch pipelines and connection pipes of terminal equipment in water heating and air conditioning systems, such as the inlet valves of fan coil units, branch valves of manifold and collector, as well as in pipelines that require quick opening and closing, such as control valves before make-up water valves and exhaust valves.
