Y-type Filter
As the name suggests a Y type strainer is a mechanical filter device that is used to remove solid particles such as rust, pipe scale, and dirt from liquids, gases, and steam. Precautions for Using Filter
Confirm Flow Direction
Verify that the directional arrow on the strainer body matches the actual flow direction of the pipeline.
Check Mesh and Drain Port Orientation

For vertical pipelines, ensure the flow is top-to-bottom, and the drain port faces sideways, in the direction of flow.
Tighten All Connections
Make sure all flanges, bolts, and threaded connections are properly secured and leak-free.
Check Isolation Valve Positions (If Installed)
Ensure that upstream and downstream isolation valves are in the correct position. During maintenance, these should be closed to allow for safe and easy cleaning or mesh replacement.
