What precautions should be taken when installing a float valve?

The installation quality of the float valve directly affects its liquid level control effect and service life. If improperly installed, the valve may become jammed, seal may fail or the level may fluctuate. Here are the key points to look out for during installation process, including the three stages of preinstallation, installation and post-installation debugging:

 

I. Pre-installation Preparation
Confirm media compatibility
Choose the appropriate float valve material (such as stainless steel, PVC, copper alloy) according to the properties of the medium (e.g. corrosion, temperature, viscosity).
Check the integrity of valves and accessories
Check that the floating ball, valve body, connecting rod, sealing components and so on are complete, no cracks or deformation.
Test the flexibility of valve opening and closing: manually pull the float ball to observe if the valve core moves smoothly without any jamming.
Determine installation location.
Horizontal installation: Float ball valves are usually installed horizontally on the top or side of the container to ensure that float ball can float freely.
Avoid interference: Stay away from the opening of inlet pipe, agitator or heating element to prevent heat inhalation or deformation of the float.
Reserve space: Allow enough space (usually 1.5 times the diameter of the floating ball) around the trajectory of the float ball to avoid collisions with the container wall.
Clean containers and pipes
Remove impurities (such as solder slag, sand particles) from containers to prevent float ball from getting stuck or damaging the sealing surface.
The inner wall of the pipe needs to be smooth to avoid burrs or protrusions that can cause valve to leak.

II. Key steps in Installation Process
Repair of valve body
Side mounting: Use flanges a flange threads to secure the valve body to the side of the container, ensuring that the body axis is vertical to the horizontal.
Top mount: Install the valve body vertically at the top of the container and hang the float below the valve body to prevent the float from shifting as it tilts.
Fastening Requirements: Use torque wrenches to tighten bolts as specified in the specification to prevent loosening or deformation.
Connected Pipeline
Inlet direction: Make sure the direction of flow is consistent with the arrow indication on the valve body to prevent reverse installation from closing the valve.
Avoid stress: Use flexible joints (such as rubber hoses) at connection points to prevent vibration or thermal expansion and contraction to the valve body.
Support pipe: For long pipe or large diameter valves, additional support should be added to reduce pressure on the valve.
Adjusting the Float Height
Initial setting: adjust the connecting rod length or float position according to the design level requirement, set the valve opening andclosing level threshold.
Marking the Liquid Level: Mark the target liquid level line on the outer wall of the container for easier subsequent debugging and maintenance.
