Stainless steel float valves and brass float are very different in several respects. The detailed comparison is as follows:

1.Material and Corrosion Resistance
Stainless Steel float valve: Floating valve body is made of stainless steel (such as 304, 316), with a dense chromium oxide film, can effectively isolate oxygen, water and other corrosive media.
Acid, alkali, salt fog and high temperature, high pressure environment. It is not easy to rust, corrode or pit after long use, and is suitable for chemical industry and petroleum industries.
Brass Float Valve: The main body is made of brass and contains copper ions. It has a certain corrosion resistance to certain acidic environments, but its overall corrosion resistance is weaker than stainless steel.
Prolonged contact to air and water can lead to green rust. In high salinity or chemical environments, its lifespan is significantly reduced.
2.Mechanical Strength and abrasion resistance
Stainless Steel Float Valve: high mechanical strength, hardness, can withstand high pressure, high temperature, switch operation frequently, suitable for large vibration industry.
High abrasion resistance, not easy to deform or wear after long use, stable sealing performance.
Brass float valve: Softer material, low abrasion resistance and strength, easy to damage in high pressure or high temperature environment.
Suitable for low voltage, low wear and tear civil system (such as domestic water supply, HVAC, etc.).
3. Temperature Adaptability
Stainless Steel float valve: temperature range, 316 series can withstand -200°C to 500°C, suitable for high temperature steam, hot oil and other media.
Brass float valve: Low temperature resistance, prone to failure at high temperature (above 200°C), suitable for low to medium temperature conditions.
4. Sealing Performance
Stainless Steel float valve: The compactedground ball combines with a high temperature and wearable sealing material (such as PTFE) to maintain good sealing performance and prevent media leakage, even in situations of high pressure differentials or frequent switching.
Brass float valve: The sealing surface and sphere of Brass Floating Valve are constantly closed. It is not easy to be corroded by media, but it is resistant to corrosion in the long run. Corrosion may cause the seal to fail.
5. Applicable Scenarios
Stainless Steel Float Valve: suitable for chemical, petroleum, food, water treatment, especially for high temperature, high pressure or corrosive environment.
Brass Float Valve: Suitable for domestic water supply, HVAC, natural gas, etc.. It is an ideal valve with cost-sensitive or milder operating conditions.
